With awards season in full swing, the Outdoor Movies team has just returned from a festival featuring several of this season’s must-sees.
They spent almost two weeks in Santiago, Chile for the 12th Wikén Film Festival. From January 8-18, the team helped transform a parking lot in Bicentennial Park, to an upscale outdoor movie venue, fully equipped with award-winning chefs and restaurants. We even got a visit from the Mayor!
The festival is known for featuring prominent international flicks that have not been released. This year’s itinerary included “12 Years a Slave” and “American Hustle,” two of the Oscar nominees for ‘Best Picture.’ Other award nominees included “August: Osage County” and “Saving Mr. Banks.”
Outdoor Movies provided projection services for this festival, bringing along a 65′ AIRSCREEN Classic inflatable movie screen and a Christie CP2230 Digital Cinema projector. They proved to be the perfect fit, with sold-out shows every night and 25,000 tickets sold!
